Students from 蜜桃传媒 took control at this year鈥檚 Oxfordshire Sainsbury鈥檚 School Games held at St Helens and St Katharine鈥檚 in Abingdon. Seven Fast Forward students from the College helped coordinate and invigilate the Panathlon games, which involved four local primary schools with students who have learning and physical disabilities.
The Sainsbury鈥檚 School Games is a year round programme offering every school-age pupil in Oxfordshire the opportunity to access high-quality competitive school sport. Over 100 primary schools have been involved in the county as well as a large amount of secondary schools, allowing children of all ages to get involved.
Lucy Tappin, from Oxfordshire Sport and Physical Activity, said 鈥淭he College provided some really fantastic volunteers to help with the running of activities. It has been really important to have the college students involved as they are great role models and can really raise the aspirations of the younger students. 鈥
Hayden Smith, 17, is a Fast Forward student helping out at the event. He said 鈥淭his is a really great event to take part in. It鈥檚 the first time I鈥檝e done something like this and it鈥檚 very exciting. This event is really great for all the children involved.鈥
