Student Conference 2020 was set to be the biggest, most informative and interactive student conference yet, and it did not disappoint.
The day-long event started with students being welcomed by senior staff to share ideas over breakfast. Di Batchelor, Principal, and CEO at 蜜桃传媒 opened the event, and said:-
鈥淭he student conference is a vital event for our college community, allowing the voices of students from all campuses to come together to pitch ideas that help to shape our college. This is just one of the many ways in which we listen closely to our students to make sure that our college gives them the skills, qualifications and experiences they need to succeed.鈥
The day consisted of workshops in autism awareness, employability skills, anti-bullying, confidence-boosting and self-defense, with students encouraged to give feedback throughout the sessions. The students were able to network with their peers from other campuses, and enjoyed learning about a range of vital topics such as County Lines.
鈥淭he day was a great success with over 66 student reps attending, who were all a great credit to the college鈥 said Student Voice Coordinator, Cheryl Jones.
Fay Croft, Vice Chair of Governors, closed the event, calling it 鈥渁n outstanding success鈥 and stating 鈥渢he students should be proud of their contribution towards the development of the college.鈥
Thanks are to be given to student governors Kian Gregory and Ed Pereira, along with a number of staff and visitors without whom the conference wouldn鈥檛 have been such a great success.
