You will receive lots of help and advice, through demonstrations from your tutor, plus one to one guidance and creative work within a supportive group setting. Please do not purchase equipment/materials until your course has been confirmed.
What you need to bring to the first session: - A4 watercolour paper pad - 140lb or 300gsm, no lighter (a pad of Langton Rough is recommended) - Paints - such as Winsor and Newton鈥檚 Cotman range or Daler Rowney鈥檚 Aquafine range- Tubes are much easier, so, tubes indoors is probably the best option, rather than pans. Colours: Essential: Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultra Marine Blue, Viridian Green (or Phthalo Green, but not both!), Also useful: Permanent Rose (very helpful for flower painters), Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre. - Selection of brushes- Choose from sable brushes at the top end, nylon brushes at the cheap end or synthetic Sable blends in the middle鈥 A big one and a small one. (Number ten round and a number two round recommended for smaller A4 or A3 sized paintings). If you work big then a large hake is useful- Small white plate/palette to mix colour on. - Jam jar for water - Kitchen paper - HB pencil and sharpener - Eraser

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
