If you would like a career in teaching this is an excellent course to get you on the correct path. This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting.
The ten-week course covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development. You will explore:鈥 Schools as organisations 鈥 Main Policies and Procedures 鈥 Health & Safety 鈥 Safeguarding 鈥 Healthy Lifestyles 鈥 The main stages of development, from birth to 19 years 鈥 How to communicate effectively with children, young people and adults 鈥 Characteristics of Teamwork 鈥 Equality & Diversity 鈥 Learning and the Curriculum

Please note there are no classes during half term.

What next?
Learners can progress to Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Entry criteria
This qualification is aimed at a range of learners who are thinking of working in a school setting including: young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
