Abingdon CampusSubjects include:- Measuring techniques: plumblines, angles, ratios, etc.- Single light source tonal modelling.- Torn paper collage- Dynamic quick poses 鈥 bold mark making.- Further anatomical study: ribcage, shoulder girdle and main muscle groups of torso.- Building from the inside to the outside: simple skeleton then adding muscles.
Materials Required:A small set of good graphite pencils ranging from HB to 6B such as Derwent or Faber Castell. A good rubber/eraser such as Windsor and Newton or Faber Castell, (not a plastic rubber as they smear).A box of willow charcoal, (medium sticks). Drawing paper: a good cartridge pad A3 or A2.Cartridge paper is heavy slightly rough paper that has been prepared for drawing, it comes in weights 150gsm to 300gsm. Cheap paper is usually smooth and difficult to shade on, although you might like to get a cheap pad as well for quick exercises.
Please note there are no classes during half term.
Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
