In the French Intermediate A course, participants will depict characters and analyse their behaviours, narrate a film or a book, and comment on situations.
The course develops the practice of providing a storyline about a book, a film or a song with opinions and comments made on characters' psychology and behaviour according to their present and past actions. Participants will express suggestions, suppositions, doubts and conclusions. They deal with two past tenses. It is the first step in the acquisition of a B1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.

What next?
The following course is the FRENCH INTERMEDIATE B course, continuing the construction of a B1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The future tense will be added to the practice of the past tense.
Entry criteria
To enrol on a French Intermediate A course, you should have started to see some past tense and be able to express a wish, relate a conversation, describe a place as well as people and their aims, and use various question structures.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
