Oxford Central LibraryYou will also learn transactional language for common tourist situations, including saying where you come from, asking about distances, places to visit, prices, explaining where to meet, describing where you are going, ordering at a caf茅, and choosing from a breakfast menu.
The course covers essential grammatical concepts such as gender, adjectival agreement, singular and plural forms, and basic present tense verb conjugations. Emphasis is placed on speaking, listening and pronunciation, helping you understand the fundamentals of French phonics so you can confidently apply them to new words.
Basic reading and writing activities will complement short dialogues and interviews, while cultural topics based on life in France and other French-speaking countries will enrich your learning experience.
If you already have more than beginner-level knowledge, you might find the pace slower, but this course offers a solid foundation for starting or refreshing your French skills.
Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
